Your assertion is correct, blood is always red but your science is wholly faulty. White light is a mixture of all the colors of the rainbow. Blood vessels are white. The pigment in your skin reflects the reds, oranges, and yellow. That leaves only the blues to reach the vessel itself which, because it is white, reflects those blues back to your eyes.
